
ANDREWS Camshaft – Manufacturer Ref. 212020
This "J" profile by Andrews is aimed at vintage and touring motorcyclists looking for a performance-oriented mid/high RPM camshaft for light urban use and drag. Machined in the United States from alloy steel billets and ground on Landis CNC grinders, it comes ready to install and works well with both solid and hydraulic lifters. The idle remains unchanged up to 6,000 RPM with the original springs.
Installation tips: be sure to check coil bind, valve-to-valve clearance, and valve-to-piston clearance before commissioning. Note specific to engines from late 1977 and onwards: the original diameter of the camshaft, pinion, and breather wheel has been modified; these parts are not interchangeable with earlier versions unless replaced as a complete kit. Post-77 pinions have a circular groove machined on the outer face.
Particularly suitable for Harley-Davidson FXS/FXE/FX 1200 (1977) and other classic/touring machines seeking a more dynamic engine character without compromising valve train compatibility.
