520MXR 3D 520 Chain by EK CHAIN

Motorcycle chain designed for off-road use, produced using the ThreeD® 3D forging process for a reduced outer perimeter and improved stress distribution. The precision assembly enhances transmission efficiency and durability, while the CHR treatment on the pins increases wear resistance in muddy and sandy conditions.

Design and Materials

• Precision 3D forging for a reduced peripheral profile, ensuring a good balance between strength and lightweight.
• Beveled outer plates with a 10% weight reduction, contributing to a lighter and more compact design.
• Hollow pins offering a 5-7% weight reduction, aiding in the overall weight savings.
• Optimised inner plate with a 4.1% weight reduction to limit unsprung masses.

Usage and Performance

• Improved transmission efficiency due to the precision of components and rigorous assembly, providing a more responsive connection between engine and wheel.
• Increased wear resistance through the CHR treatment on the pins, which limits deformation of the plates in the presence of dirt and sand.
• Treatment making the pins hard on the outside and more flexible on the inside, enhancing shock absorption and reducing oxidation.

Benefits

• Good Design Award® certification demonstrating a functional aesthetic approach.
• OEM reference 520MXR/3D-G/G 116 SP
