Hydrogel products from IZI BodyCooling cool in 3 different ways:
- Evaporation : By placing the hydrogel product in water, the hard polymer grains swell into a gel. The water evaporates and the hydrogel product cools for 72 hours at a time.
- Active temperature reduction thanks to refrigerated storage: The cooling effect of the hydrogel product is extended by 30 minutes by storing it in the refrigerator beforehand. After this additional cooling phase, evaporative cooling begins.
- Melting process after freezing: The hydrogel product offers 2 to 3 hours of additional intensive cooling if it has previously been stored in the freezer. After this additional cooling phase, evaporative cooling begins.
- A superabsorbent (SAP) composed of dry polymer granules is sewn between two layers of fabric in individual closed chambers. When SAP comes into contact with water, it swells and turns into a gel. Thanks to reliable sealing technology, no hydrogel leaks are guaranteed. The water absorbed by the SAP in the sealed chambers now begins to evaporate and cooling begins, simulating the process of perspiration in a human body.
