Why use silicon carbide nickel plating?
Silicon carbide nickel is used throughout the Cylinder Works range as a coating on every cylinder, standard or upgraded.
The reasons why we use a silicon carbide nickel coating, rather than a cast iron or chrome coating, are simple.
Silicon carbide nickel allows tighter tolerances between the piston and cylinder of larger diameters, guarantees minimal frictional surface, is extremely resistant and ensures greater heat exchange dissipation.
A cylinder that not only delivers superior performance, but also guarantees long life and reliability for your motorcycle.
