Usage and Performance

• On most bimetallic relays, the frequency depends on the amperage and changing indicators can alter the flashing rate, which helps anticipate the need to adjust power or components
• On electronic relays, the frequency is independent of the current intensity and switching to different indicators generally does not affect the rate
• For switching to LEDs, it is possible to incorporate a parallel resistor to balance the frequency and use resistor ref. 4298O if all four indicators are replaced or resistor ref. 5873O if only two indicators are replaced, connection diagram provided with the resistors
• Important note: in most models, using resistors may prevent the proper functioning of the hazard lights
• Identifying the indicator relay by its location and pin count and replacing it with the corresponding model offered can often restore a correct flashing frequency
