PROGRESSIVE SUSPENSION – Series 412 Shock Absorber (Manufacturer's Ref: 412-4080B)
Series 412 shock absorber without covers, designed for Harley touring and cruiser motorcycles. Steel construction, black finish, and an internally gas-charged reservoir for progressive absorption of irregularities. Heavy-duty version intended for demanding uses and motorcycles that are often loaded.
- Extended Length: 305 mm (12.00") measured centre to centre
- Adjustment: spring preload via 5-position cam for easy load handling
- Material: steel body with springs suitable for heavy loads
- Damping: gas-charged method, internal reservoir for compactness
- Finish: black (style options available from the manufacturer)
- Made in: United States
Installation caution: all shock absorbers are measured centre to centre. On some models (notably XL '86-'15), it may be necessary to modify or space the chain/belt guard to achieve the correct clearance. A shock absorber longer or shorter than the original may slightly alter the rake angle and handling characteristics. Check wheel travel and clearances (swingarm, exhaust, belt/chain guard) before installation.
