Series 412 Shock Absorber without Covers — Progressive Suspension (manufacturer's ref: 412-4072B)
Designed for Harley-Davidson machines, this Series 412 shock absorber offers a robust and economical solution for equipping a touring bike. Black finished steel body, internal chamber, and gas-charged damping system for consistent response over long distances. 5-position cam preload adjustment to adapt the load according to rider, passenger, or luggage.
- Extended length: 330 mm (13.00") — measured centre to centre of the eyelets.
- Finish: black (without covers for this reference).
- Material: steel; Damping: gas-charged, internal reservoir.
- Made in the USA.
- Usage: suitable for touring bikes. Heavy Duty options recommended for frequent use near the manufacturer's maximum load.
Before installation: check clearances and wheel travel — a shock absorber slightly longer or shorter than the original may alter the rake angle and steering responsiveness. On some models (e.g. XL '86-'15), it may be necessary to modify or space the chain/belt guard to ensure sufficient clearance. Some shocks in the series are road-legal; consult the latest certificate for confirmation.
