Progressive Suspension – Series 412 Shock Absorber without Covers (Manufacturer part number: 412-4036B): a robust and understated shock absorber designed for Harley and custom cruisers. The simple design of the 412 series offers an economical and reliable alternative for those looking to replace or upgrade their rear suspension without complications. Black finish, internal reservoir, and steel body with a gas-charged damping system for consistent performance over time.
- Extended length: 305 mm (12.00") — centre to centre measurement
- Preload adjustment via cam with 5 positions to adjust ground clearance and load handling
- Finish: black (without covers) — discreet style suitable for Vintage/Classic and Cruiser/Touring environments
- Function: standard; material: steel; damping: gas
- Made in the USA
Suitable for many Harley models (notably Dyna such as FXDLS, FXDWG, FXDL 2017 indicated as examples). Before installation, check the clearance of the swingarm, exhaust, and chain/belt guard: on some XL '86-'15 models, a spacer or modification of the chain guard may be necessary. A shock absorber longer or shorter than the original may slightly alter the rake angle and steering responsiveness. For frequent use at full load, prefer the "Heavy Duty" application.
