Series 422 Shock Absorber by PROGRESSIVE SUSPENSION (manufacturer part no. 422-4037C): a complete solution for riders seeking fine adjustments and a chrome look for their Vintage/Classic or Touring bikes. These monotube shock absorbers, equipped with progressive springs, are designed to offer a balance between road comfort and cornering stability while maintaining a "show chrome" finish.
- Adjustable: fully adjustable ride height and spring preload, with the possibility to lower by up to 2" (compared to original components).
- Technology: gas-charged damping (internal reservoir) to reduce internal oil cavitation and contribute to a more consistent response, even during prolonged efforts.
- Construction: monotube element paired with a set of progressive springs, designed for standard use.
- Finish: show chrome for an aesthetic look suitable for customs and touring.
- Usage Advice: for motorcycles frequently used at maximum load, reinforced applications are recommended.
Examples of compatible applications: certain Harley-Davidson Softail and Touring models (check original references). Before purchase or installation, check the available space around the wheel arch: altering the length of a shock absorber can affect ground clearance and cause contact between the swingarm/axle and exhaust.
