Series 422 Shock Absorber – PROGRESSIVE SUSPENSION (ref. 422-4002C)
Designed for touring and vintage custom bikes, this Series 422 shock absorber combines a chrome look with precise adjustments. The set consists of a pair of nitrogen-charged monotube shock absorbers with progressive springs: this combination offers adjustable suspension behaviour according to riding style and load. Chrome "show" finish for a polished visual touch on a classic or touring machine.
- Adjustments: fully adjustable ride height and spring preload.
- Construction: monotube body, internal reservoir, gas-charged damping (to limit internal oil cavitation).
- Performance: pair of progressive springs provided for a progressive response according to effort.
- Finish: chrome, heavy-duty — designed for demanding uses.
- Lowering: adjustable up to 2" (≈50 mm) lower than original components.
Common applications: Harley-Davidson Softail / Breakout / Fat Boy S (e.g. FXSE, FLSTFBS, FLSS 2017 1800 cc). Before purchase or installation, check clearances (wheel travel, swingarm, exhaust); for machines often loaded to their maximum capacity, the use of a reinforced version is recommended.
