Features

This high-performance DRAG SPECIALTIES starter in Hitachi style offers a compact and robust solution for restarting vintage twin-cylinder and touring motorcycles. Designed as a 12 V replacement unit, it delivers 1.4 kW and is 100% brand new – not refurbished, providing more power than the original starter without major engine modifications.

Reinforced construction: oversized clutch rollers, cold-formed steel pinion gear, and resistance-welded armature pins for durability.
Extended compatibility: special pinion shaft threads and extended jackshaft bolt to fit more applications.
Compact size: shorter than the original, does not require additional rear support.
Installation tip: due to the increased power, using 4-gauge cables and a suitable battery (ideally Drag Specialties) is recommended for reliable starts.
Finish: black, Hitachi style — unit ready to install.

Ideal for Vintage/Classic and Touring sets, this starter is particularly suited for Harley-Davidson FXSTS, FXSTC, and FXST 1340 models (1988). Manufacturer reference: 80-1005.
