Usage and adjustment

The rollers act on the variator via centrifugal force: at rotational speed, their mass determines the outward thrust and the moment of variator opening. By choosing lighter rollers, the engine tends to operate at a higher RPM; opting for heavier rollers causes the variator to open earlier and the RPM to decrease. This MALOSSI set allows for adjustment of the operating range to optimise acceleration in urban use without modifying other transmission components.
