Operating principle

In the variator, rotation transforms the mass of the rollers into centrifugal force. The 4.4 g rollers move the variator ring according to this principle: the lighter the roller, the later the gear change occurs, allowing the engine speed to rise; conversely, a heavier roller causes an earlier rise in engine speed. Adjustment is therefore made by choosing the weight suitable for your riding style and conditions (incline, load, type of journey).
