This pack of 8 rollers allows for precise adjustment of the primary transmission behavior: shift point, acceleration character, and maintaining engine speed within the desired range. Operating Principle

The rollers rotate in the variator and, under the effect of centrifugal force, move the movable pulley to modify the effective diameter. A heavier roller generates greater centrifugal force and causes a quicker adjustment to a high ratio, while a lighter roller delays this shift and promotes higher RPMs. Therefore, the choice of weight influences the acceleration response, recovery, and usable power range.
