The Tech 10 has set the standard for performance and protection in Motocross boots for over a decade, with a constant focus on product development and innovation that continues to push the boundaries of performance higher than ever.
While maintaining the iconic look of the Tech 10, the latest iteration of the boot works tirelessly to provide the rider with the pinnacle of feel, comfort, and overall safety, raising the bar for what a premium motocross boot should be higher than ever before.
The ongoing development of the Tech 10 has been guided by three key priorities, as Alpinestars' footwear technical team sought to enhance overall functionality, performance, and safety, while reducing weight and minimizing material volume on the boot. Maximizing these priorities is the key achievement of the latest Tech 10, resulting in a significantly greater range of motion and flexibility, while providing improved control over bending and torsional forces that greatly enhance the boot's performance, giving the rider greater confidence and protection.
Features
Unmatched flex control
A revolutionary innovation for the Tech 10 is the introduction of the patented Frontal Flex Frame by Alpinestars. Combined with the two front and rear blade connectors, the Frontal Flex Frame provides the Tech 10 with a complete and uniform flex control system, from the foot shell to the shin plate, allowing for an extremely efficient dual movement control that prevents hyperextension and hypercompression, thanks to the following elements:
Calibrated front flex control through a dual-density TPU connection system that links the double hook lower plate to the upper blade connector, hook, and shin guard. Designed to "float" freely between the lower and upper parts, the Frontal Flex Frame acts as a shock absorber by distributing energy throughout the boot's structure while controlling forward and backward flex, absorbing and cushioning impact energy.
Asymmetrical dual pivot arms on the boot frame.
Ankle control system
A unique feature of the Tech 10 is the ankle control system, developed on the outer shell, which allows for natural ankle movement, vertical compression control, and improved impact protection.
Asymmetrical medial and lateral dual pivot system for greater flexibility and better precision of independent and synchronized movements. The higher placement of the medial pivot reduces material volume in the lower boot area, making room for the patented ankle reinforcement system for greater freedom of movement and better control. The reduced volume on the inner side decreases abrasion at the contact points of the boot with the motorcycle, thus enhancing grip and feel.
Dual-density TPU rear blade system designed to prevent hyperextension by providing better flex control and increased impact resistance.
DCHP - An innovation in heel protection
Inside the unique, lightweight, co-injected one-piece foot structure lies the patented Dynamic Heel Compression Protector (DHCP), an innovative safety solution that includes an integrated foldable heel zone with expanded polymer foam to absorb impact energy in the event of a collision. The DHCP features a directional impact protection system that significantly reduces the effect of excessive energy transmission that could cause injuries to the ankle and calf. The DHCP has been used by Alpinestars athletes in the challenging environments of professional Supercross and Motocross.
New internal ankle reinforcement
Internal biomechanical ankle reinforcement. A patented technology characterized by
Lighter and more ergonomic lateral and medial torsion bars, compact and offering a greater range of motion and better control. Combined with the external structure of the boot, the ankle guard provides vertical and lateral protection against compression and rotation of the ankle and leg, as well as cushioning torsional forces in the event of an accident, while ensuring great freedom of movement.
The dual pivot system allows the Tech 10 to maintain its flex integrity, eliminating the need for alternative torsion bars based on different ankle sizes, and importantly, providing progressive resistance to vertical and rotational forces that can cause extreme damage to the ankles, knees, thighs, and pelvis if not controlled in a cushioned manner.
New compact pull-on design to reduce material volume and weight, making it easier to put on the boots.
Innovative flexible inserts that integrate perfectly with the Tech 10 flex support system for maximum performance.
TPU cushioning to absorb impacts on the heels and ankles, with an ultra-thin and flexible area at the forefoot to enhance sensitivity and control.
Removable ergonomic dual-component insole, made of EVA to improve comfort and support, and allow for even weight distribution.
Ergonomic shin and calf plates
The design of the Tech 10 is slimmer and more aerodynamic, featuring a profiled calf protector that ergonomically wraps around the back of the leg. Made with a dual-density compound and combined with the rear blade system, the protection is enhanced by the progressive cushioning of excessive torsional forces. The energy-dissipating shin plate benefits from a new ergonomic design aimed at reducing weight and surface area.
Integration of a unique sole
Completely redesigned sole with an exclusive tread pattern to enhance performance on footpegs, grip, and the flow of mud and water. The unique bi-component sole is perfectly integrated into the multi-density foot structure with built-in support. The sole offers durability, optimized grip, and better feel while riding, as well as improved performance on the shifter. The central insert of the sole is designed with micro-grip and lateral traction grip. It is easily replaceable, and Alpinestars offers a full repair and resoling service.
Buckle closure system
With its optimized and rethought ergonomics to reduce weight, the new three-hook closure system is made of nylon and fiberglass for increased strength and durability. The new, slimmer buckles feature high-strength cold-forged closures for added sturdiness and precision. The closure system includes a double safety lock and a quick-release/lock system with automatic alignment and memory for easy and precise fastening, better performance, and greater safety. All buckles are easily replaceable.
Material
Innovative and lightweight stem, the structure of the Tech 10 combines lightweight microfiber with a TPU shell that is resistant to impacts and abrasion.
Foot shell made from five different compounds combined into a single lightweight piece to provide durability while maintaining flexibility and structural integrity. The foot shell includes toe and heel protections that resist abrasion and impacts very well for improved overall boot durability. The foot shell features an integrated plate that ensures support and structural integrity.
Double-lock front protection with an inner microfiber flap, Velcro adjustment for precise closure under the hook that offers greater accuracy thanks to an easy-to-use micro-adjustment.
Soft microfiber edging to help protect against dirt and water.
Polyester lining with 3D open-cell foam that incorporates a non-slip suede area at the heel, keeping the foot in place inside the boot.
Protections
Integrated into the unique, lightweight one-piece co-injected chassis of the Tech 10, the patented Dynamic Heel Compression Protector (DHCP) is an innovative safety feature that includes a fully integrated and retractable heel zone made from expanded polyurethane foam to absorb high-impact energies during an accident. The DHCP features a directional impact protection system that significantly reduces the effect of excessive energy, potentially causing injuries, transferred to the ankle and lower leg. The DHCP has been used by Alpinestars athletes in the demanding environments of professional Supercross and Motocross.
The internal biomechanical ankle brace features lighter, anatomically redesigned medial and lateral torsion arms that are compact and provide greater range of motion and control. In conjunction with the outer chassis of the boot, the ankle brace offers vertical and lateral protection against compression and rotation of the ankle and leg, as well as progressive damping of torsional forces during an accident, while allowing for natural freedom of movement.
A dual pivot system allows the Tech 10 to maintain its integrity while flexing, eliminating the need for alternative torsion bars for different ankle widths and, importantly, providing essential progressive resistance to rotational and vertical forces that could otherwise be damaging to the ankles, knees, thighs, and pelvis if not controlled properly.
TPU dual-density rear blade system designed to prevent hyperextension while providing better flex control and impact resistance.
The Tech 10 boots are CE certified according to the EN 13634:2017 standard.
