Reference: DS6-1 — Brand: DYNATEK - HARLEY. Standalone electronic ignition system designed to replace points and condensers on vintage, roadster, and touring bikes. This module uses Hall effect magnetic sensors, which are insensitive to RPM variations and dirt or oil, to generate a more consistent and reliable spark.
- Standalone electronic ignition with Hall sensors, eliminating points and condensers.
- Advance modification of less than three degrees for optimised combustion without claiming quantified gains.
- Design resistant to contaminants (oil/dust) and easy installation for the amateur workshop or the experienced mechanic.
- Made in the USA and used by many race riders.
- Installation tips: requires a 5-ohm aftermarket coil (e.g. part DC7-1) or an original points coil from early Shovelheads. Not recommended with OEM coils. For road use, a 5-ohm coil is required.
- Specific note: on certain models listed 1984–1999, a centrifugal advance mechanism is required; on XL 1986–2003 and Big Twin 1980–1999, a mechanical advance unit is necessary.
Product intended for riders seeking a reliable ignition solution that is easy to install for their vintage Sportster and Big Twin. Compatible with many Harleys, including XL 1200 C (2003) and XLH 883 (2003).
