Designed for aggressive off-road use, this AXP skid plate made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) at 6 mm effectively protects the engine cases, engine, and water pump from debris and impacts encountered in motocross and supercross. HDPE offers superior shock absorption compared to aluminium: it flexes, returns to its shape, and limits vibrations while remaining significantly lighter (approximately 30–40% weight saving compared to metal).
