No cable is required: the software update is done wirelessly using your mobile phone. Download the Cardo Connect app on your phone, go to Settings, select your device, and click on the latest available software update.
You can also update the software via a USB cable on your computer. Download the Cardo Update app from the Cardo website, open it, connect your device, and follow the instructions.
Installing the latest version of the software helps avoid bugs and access new features. We recommend updating your device before first use.
Of course. All Cardo devices are waterproof. This means you can ride in the rain while enjoying optimal communication.
Your device is equipped with fast charging. You will get 2 hours of talk time after just 20 minutes of charging. A full charge takes up to 2 hours.
Your Cardo device features a charging while riding function that allows you to connect it to an external battery or a motorcycle power source and continue using it well beyond the standard battery life. Just plug your device into the power source, and that’s it.
No: do not attempt to disassemble or replace the battery yourself. Attempting to replace the battery yourself may damage the system's waterproofing.
However, you can try the following: plug your device into the charger and let it charge for at least 4 consecutive hours. If that doesn’t work, try a different wall charger and another USB cable. If the device still doesn’t hold a charge, please contact customer support.
The HJC-4X is only compatible with certain HJC helmets: RPHA (31, 60, 71, 71c, 91, 91c), i (71, 91), and f (31, 71, 71c).
We recommend not leaving your device unused or stored for more than 3 months without recharging it. Be sure to charge your device at least once every 3 months for a full 4 hours to ensure maximum battery lifespan.

You need to download the Cardo Connect app. It allows you to set up your device, control it remotely from your smartphone screen, and perform software updates wirelessly.
Yes. Your new Cardo communication system connects to all Cardo devices via Bluetooth. G and Q series devices must be in phone pairing mode before starting the pairing process.
Sound by JBL and sound profiles are already pre-activated in your communicator. To select one of the sound profiles, go to the audio settings in the Cardo Connect app.
Yes. In most cases, the intercom and music streaming can work simultaneously. When someone speaks on the intercom network, your Cardo device automatically lowers the music volume so you can hear clearly.
Your device comes with an excellent set of speakers, but you can also plug in your favourite headphones or spare speakers via the 3.5 mm jack.
To start using the device, you will need to activate it in the app. After that, it will no longer be necessary to use the phone. The intercom and radio functions are completely independent of the phone.
As with vehicle fuel consumption figures, the range stated in the product description corresponds to the maximum range tested under optimal conditions. Actual performance may vary depending on obstacles in the line of sight, such as ridges, trees, and buildings, as well as wireless interference such as mobile phone base stations and power lines.

Sound quality is optimal when the speakers are positioned directly in front of your ear canal. Ensure they are correctly positioned in your helmet by following the steps below.
1. With the helmet on your head, slide a finger inside the helmet and press against the side of the helmet where your ear is located. This is where the speakers should be positioned.
2. Remove the helmet while keeping your finger in that position. Check that the speakers are indeed in that position.
3. Make sure the speakers are placed as close to your ears as possible so you can feel them. If necessary, use the Velcro reinforcement pads provided behind the speakers to bring them closer to your ears.
4. Since every head is different, the ear cavities of your helmet may not be optimally positioned. In this case, consider placing the speakers outside the ear cavities of the helmet, directly in front of your ears.
5. You can choose your preferred sound profile in the Cardo Connect app.
You can share music with any Cardo device of the same generation: PACKTALK PRO, PACKTALK EDGE, PACKTALK NEO, PACKTALK CUSTOM, FREECOM 4X, FREECOM 2X, Spirit HD, and Spirit.
Your device will not be able to share music with products from previous generations (PACKTALK Bold/Black/Slim/Ducati/Louis, PACKTALK, SMARTPACK, SMARTH, FREECOM 2/4/1+/2+/4+, G-line, Q-line, SRC-line, SHO-1).

You should charge your battery from a wall outlet, ensuring that the plug-in AC/DC adapter meets the following criteria: input: 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz, 0.2 A; maximum output: 5 V DC, 1 A. Any other charging method may pose a risk of overheating or damage the battery.
Please also note that the allowable ambient temperature range for charging the battery is between 0 °C and 40 °C (32 °F to 104 °F).
Your device can easily pair with the latest known generations of Sena, directly via standard Bluetooth intercom.
Pairing and communication occur as between two devices of the same brand. There is no need to use universal pairing on either side. Follow the instructions in the manuals and initiate standard intercom pairing on both devices. Wait for the pairing to complete. The intercom connection starts automatically after pairing.
You retain the ability to receive phone calls, navigation instructions, and listen to music or FM radio on both sides. Parallel audio depends on support from certain models.
Just as music sharing is not supported between two different generations of Cardo products, it is also not possible to share music between different brands.
Yes. Cardo intercom systems feature universal connectivity. They can pair with any other Cardo communication system or those from other major brands.
With the latest generations of Midland, Uclear, and Sena communicators, Bluetooth pairing is identical to that with another Cardo device.
To pair your device with a non-Cardo helmet, follow these steps:
1. Start the intercom pairing on your device (refer to your pocket guide or user manual for instructions).
2. On the other device, start universal pairing (if supported) or mobile phone pairing (if universal pairing is not supported).
3. Wait for the pairing to complete.
