When overhauling a piston or replacing a pin, always check the condition of the circlip: any deformation, wear, or loss of elasticity necessitates its replacement. Installation and removal should be done with a suitable circlip plier; tighten and position carefully to avoid any lateral play.

Small and unobtrusive, this circlip is an essential engine safety component in your workshop kit to prevent the pin from moving and causing internal damage. Always keep a few on hand during maintenance operations on your 2-stroke or 4-stroke off-road vehicles.
