The Pro Series Armalite double crown is designed for intensive use and competition. Featuring a 7075-T6 aluminium centre and a HCS steel outer ring, it combines lightweight construction with durability of the teeth. The Hex-Drive interface maximises power transfer between the two rings and alleviates stress on the rivets, enhancing overall reliability.
Design and Materials
- CNC machined 7075-T6 aluminium inner ring for a lighter crown that is easier to handle during installation.
- HCS outer ring providing superior wear resistance of the teeth for extended usage.
- Hex-Drive interface between the inner and outer rings maximising power transfer and reducing stress on the rivets for a more reliable assembly.
- CAD-designed profile with mud release grooves to limit wear in off-road conditions.
Practicality and Features
- Installation performed with the rear wheel and chain removed, on a stand, for safe access and precise positioning of the crown.
- Prior cleaning of the hub perimeter and fastenings is recommended to ensure a correct fit of the new crown.
- Application of blue Loctite on each bolt before insertion to ensure the fastenings remain secure after tightening.
- Tightening of the nuts should be done evenly and according to the user manual to maintain sealing and safety of the assembly.
- Maintain the hex key during loosening/tightening operations to correctly position the inner ring.
