Drawing on the technology used for Formula 1 engines, Polini Motori has designed a thermal power unit that sets a benchmark for the development of Piaggio 300 engines.
Thanks to the special Nicasil-coated steel barrel and the "HTR" (High Turbulence Ring), we''ve been able to increase the bore to 77mm, taking the displacement from the original to 294 cm3 cm3: an explosion of incredible power for your scooter''s engine.
The thermal unit is fitted without any modification to the original crankcase and cylinder heads.
A unique feature in the scooter segment is the "HTR" ring, which not only improves the squish effect, but also provides a large bearing surface for the cylinder head gasket, ensuring high reliability of this component.
The piston features a particularly extended skirt to resist the lateral thrusts generated by the connecting rod; the combustion chamber cut into the piston skirt is shaped for optimum compression ratio with large squish strips that couple with the original cylinder head.
The housing has two specific curves for the different stages of development: the first is indicated for assembly with Polini Hi Speed variator, kit and original pot; the second for assembly with Polini Hi Speed variator, kit and Polini pot.
Performance with the new kit is already tangible at low revs, and the engine performs well at every rpm.
The kit comes complete with a Plug & Play box and the relevant wiring, which must be connected to the original system without modification.
