DRAPER – Valve Lapping Kit (ref. 72891)

This lapping kit is designed to restore contact between the valve seats and the valve faces during cylinder head refurbishment. It includes a carborundum-based lapping compound and a double-ended lapping tool for cleanly working on the intake and exhaust faces.

• Contents: double-ended lapping tool Ø 19 mm & Ø 22 mm and 2 pots of lapping compound (fine grain & coarse grain).
• Usage: apply the compound to the face, mount the lapping tool on the valve stem, and rotate to homogenize the surface.
• Compound Material: carborundum base suitable for lapping valve seats.

Practical for timing operations and engine maintenance, this kit allows for adjustments to the faces without heavy disassembly. It is suitable for valves with diameters corresponding to the supplied ends and fits into the small workshop tools for motorcycle, scooter, or small engine. Before any intervention, carefully clean the cylinder head and valves to avoid contamination. After lapping, degrease and check the sealing of the seats using the usual mechanic methods.
