Why use a silicon carbide nickel coating
Silicon carbide nickel is used across the entire Cylinder Works range as a coating on every cylinder, standard or oversized.
The reasons we use a silicon carbide nickel coating, rather than a cast iron or chrome coating, are straightforward.
Silicon carbide nickel allows for tighter tolerances between the piston and the oversized cylinder, ensures minimal friction surface, is extremely durable, and provides greater thermal dissipation during heat exchange.
A cylinder that, in addition to providing superior performance, guarantees customers durability and reliability for their motorcycle.
