The FIM-certified Tech-Air® 7X is based directly on proven MotoGP technology. This self-contained system offers optimum protection while remaining discreet and well-ventilated, designed for riders looking for maximum safety. It protects the shoulders, chest, back and coccyx with an extended back protector.

Equipped with an active electronic system, the Tech-Air 7X incorporates twelve sensors, including three triaxial accelerometers positioned on the back protector and shoulders, and a triaxial gyroscope located on the back. These sensors analyse the rider's movements in real time to detect any anomalies or impacts. Thanks to years of research and the analysis of thousands of accidents, Alpinestars has developed an intelligent algorithm capable of precisely identifying a crash situation and activating the airbag in a maximum of 44 milliseconds, reducing the force of impact by up to 90% compared to conventional passive protection.

This system offers two distinct driving modes, pre-configured and adjustable via the Tech-Air application:

• Race mode: optimised for racing use on closed circuits.
• Road mode: designed for sporty driving on open roads

It is essential to select the appropriate mode before each use to ensure optimum effectiveness of the device. The Tech-Air 7X is compatible with all Tech-Air Ready or Tech-Air Compatible suits and jackets, as well as with any leather equipment that provides a sufficient 4 cm of space around the chest to allow the airbag to inflate in the event of deployment. It is designed to integrate easily with Tech-Air equipment. It has a range of up to 20 hours on the move, and can be fully recharged in around 4 hours. A one-hour charge gives between 7 and 8 hours' use.

The Tech-Air 7X displays its operating status at all times via an integrated LED screen on the front flap.

• The Airbag System is a level 2 inflatable back protector that complies with standard EN 1621-4:2018. It also incorporates coccyx protection and is class C, category II Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• The device is equipped with four triaxial sensors: a triaxial accelerometer and a triaxial gyroscope integrated into the main electronic control unit, plus two additional triaxial accelerometers placed on the shoulders.
• Thanks to its dual charge capacity, it can trigger two separate airbags, provided that both gas cartridges are filled.
• Its robust shell, protected by a watertight seal, guarantees reliable operation in extreme conditions, with a temperature range from -10°C to 50°C.

• The system is designed to allow up to four airbag deployments before replacement, provided the airbag has not been damaged in the first three deployments.

• The system offers two operating modes, STREET and RACE, each with collision detection algorithms based on artificial intelligence, easily selectable via the Tech-Air® application.   
• It is fully compatible with the FIM Grand Prix requirements for airbag systems.
